ABOUT
Katie Heil
BSN, RN, LMT, SANE-A
Throughout my life, I have dealt with anxiety and depression in many forms. From a young age, I helped care for my mother who had debilitating bipolar depression. However, it wasn't long before I started my own struggle with depression and anxiety. While some would say I have been successful in overcoming my disease, every day still remains a struggle to function at 'normal' levels.
Within the last several years, I have found much healing and freedom in sharing my struggles and my story with others. I have been encouraged over and over again by reading or listening to other's testimonies of anxiety and depression, and I hope I can some day be the same encouragement for someone else. I firmly believes that nobody should ever have to fight anxiety and depression alone. Although we each have our own unique experiences, we are NOT ALONE in this fight!
I was born and raised in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Although I spent many years away from Lancaster, it has always remained "home" to me. After going off to two colleges and serving five years in the US Army Nurse Corps, I returned home and currently reside in the small town of Strasburg with my two cats (Ellie and Simba) and two dogs (Torie and Petey). I spend my time coaching field hockey and track and field at my alma mater and working various nursing jobs in the area. I am very active in my church, participating in worship whenever the Lord allows. I travel as often as God allows and have developed a heart for medical missions, even if I almost died on one! I strive toward living as much of a transparent life as possible, so feel free to contact me with any questions!!
' The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.' Numbers 6:24-26
Recently, I shared a brief testimony at my home church. You can listen to it here.
